Her beautiful and moving images of the body are well worth seeing. At 95 Louise Bourgeois is till thoughtful and productive. The 90 minute film on Louise is rather slow moving, but is very interesting in light of the dynamics of the family and the life-time influence of parents on a child's psyche. Her use of fabric from dresses and clothing she has saved from her childhood speaks to the concept of memory and memorialization that we have studied and reflected upon in the Museums and Public Memory class (ANTH159A) .
I find a pleasant humor in her placement of body parts in a series of figures (some with two heads) lying in bed together.
